According to the National Bank, commercial banks and card processing systems operating in Georgia do not cooperate with payment system company Мир.

According to a statement issued by NBG, operations with this system are fully carried out in the Russian system and it has nothing to do with the Georgian financial system.

"According to the bank, the payment systems company Мир is cooperating with the de facto republic of Abkhazia, which, according to the bank, may violate the law on the occupied territories.

As for the issue of Georgian company's cooperation, the assessment of this is beyond the competence of the National Bank.

The National Bank of Georgia has always operated and continues to operate in full compliance with the standards set by international resolutions. We would like to remind you that the National Bank has already instructed the representatives of the Georgian financial sector to fulfill their obligations under the sanctions," the National Bank of Georgia said in a statement.
