Georgia reports 888 new cases of coronavirus, 17 deaths

According to stopcov.ge, as part of the intensive testing, 21,620 tests were conducted across the country in the last 24 hours, including 19,218 antigen tests and 2,402 PCR tests.

As a result of the testing, 888 new cases of the virus were detected in the last 24 hours. The total number of confirmed cases detected since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country amounts to 1,639,678.

As of March 16, the daily rate of positive is 4.11%, for the last 14 days - 10.92% and for 7 days - 7.54%.

In the last 24 hours, 2,831 people recovered from the virus, bringing the total to 1,594,011. 17 deaths from coronavirus were reported in the last 24 hours. A total of 16,612 people have died from the virus since the pandemic spread.

Out of 888 new cases of infection detected in the country today: 434 cases were reported in Tbilisi, Adjara - 32, Imereti - 111, Kvemo Kartli - 29, Shida Kartli - 50, Guria - 42, Samegrelo - Zemo Svaneti - 53, Kakheti - 88, Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 25, Samtskhe-Javakheti - 10, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 14.

The number of active cases amounts to 29,029.
