Mircea Geoană: The Georgian leadership will receive an invitation to the NATO summit to be held in Madrid at the end of June

The Georgian leadership will receive an invitation to the NATO summit to be held in Madrid at the end of June, - NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoană told reporters before the meeting of the Alliance Foreign Ministers in Berlin.

Mircea Geoană noted that the decision was made as part of an open door policy.

"NATO has always respected the right of nations to choose their own path. Georgia is a partner with enhanced capabilities with which NATO has a long-term partnership," he said, answering questions from a Georgian journalist.

"I can say that the Georgian leadership will be invited to the NATO summit," he added.
