European Commission to publish report on granting EU candidate status to Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova on June 17

The European Commission will publish a report on granting EU candidate status to Georgia, said Ukraine and Moldova on June 17, European Commission Spokesman Eric Mamer said.

"I read in the press that the European Commission made a decision yesterday, but it is a complete lie. The Commission did not decide anything yesterday, it held an introductory debate that allows Council members to express their views and opinions on the issue," Mamer said.

According to him, the Council of European Commissioners is now preparing a debate and the relevant services are completing the documentation.

The decision on granting the status of the EU candidate is expected to be made on June 23-24.
