Salome Zurabshvili: What we’re seeing in Bichvinta is a form of annexation of Georgian territory by Russia, I call on the international community to strongly react to this

What we’re seeing in Bichvinta is a form of annexation of Georgian territory by Russia, President Salome Zurabshvili says in her tweet.

She called on the international community to strongly react to this.

“We see a strong popular reaction to the developments. This is the result of continued occupation

I strongly condemn this and call on the international community to strongly react to this," Zurabisvhili tweeted.

For information, Bichvinta state cottages and 186 hectares of land around are being transferred to the ownership of the Russian Federation. According to the reports, the agreement on the transfer of the territory was signed in Moscow on January 19, 2022, between the Government of the Russian Federation and the de facto authorities of occupied Abkhazia. The document states that the land where the buildings are located will be transferred for 49 years.
