Neka Dorokashvili: The judge passed judgement on the women of Georgia, she said that nothing will help us, that we will die in violence - I am starting a real fight now

Neli (Neka) Dorokashvili, ex-wife of tennis player Nikoloz Basilashvili, reacts to the acquittal of Nikoloz Basilashvili by the court and declares that she is starting the real fight now.

"It is a pity that this case cannot be taken directly to Strasbourg and the UN, because the objective truth should be determined and justice achieved in the shortest possible time. We will go through all the instances, even if everyone turns a blind eye to a case full of evidence because of status and influence, we will still get justice. We will use this case as an example of how the judicial system works in Georgia. The judge, who denies the facts in front of her, turns a blind eye to everything, relies only on the defendant's 10-minute reply, repeating his exact words! After 2 years of discussion, she only repeats the defendant's 10-minute reply. She could have listened the accused 2 years ago, repeated his words and stated immediately that this guy is not guilty. Today, this lady passed judgment on the women of all Georgia. With this, she said that nothing can help us, that we will die in violence. If Neka Dorokashvili did not win the criminal dispute full of direct and indirect evidence, then what should other women victims of violence hope for?! I will definitely fight to the end and get justice for myself, for all my supporters and for all abused women and yes for all women who are still being abused. There are many cases when husbands and ex-husbands released on bail kill their wives, those who are acquitted cut their throats, what does this mean?! Doesn't this point to decisions made by Georgian stereotypes, familiarity and influences?! Doesn't this give us the feeling that the courts in Georgia are killing women?! I want to say a big thank you to all my supporters, who, regardless of stereotypes, status, followed the processes, enthusiastically support me, and for whom everything is clear with more than enough evidence in the case, I love you!!! I am starting a real fight now," Dorokashvili wrote on the social network.
