Teona Akubardia leaves Strategy Builder but remains a member of the Reforms parliamentary political group. Teona Akubardia wrote about this on Facebook.­

As Akubardia writes, her decision is due to Strategy­ Builder's recent distancing from the parliamentary work.

According to her, this has repeatedly led to differences between her and the party's positions.

"I have decided to leave the Strategy­ Builder party, although I remain a member of the Reforms parliamentary political group, where the leader of the Republican Party and an independent deputy are represented together with the Strategy­ Builder party. I became a member of the Parliament from the list of Strategy­ Builder, although I did not hold any party position in the party.

My principle position is that a member of the Parliament should be actively involved in the parliamentary work together with other opposition colleagues, especially at a very critical time for the country, when the issue concerns the implementation of the European recommendations for the EU candidate status.

Accordingly, this decision of mine is due to the recent distancing of Strategy­ Builder from parliamentary work, which has repeatedly caused differences between the positions of me and the party.

In order to fully implement my mandate as a member of Parliament and an opposition deputy, I decided to become an independent deputy and continue to work actively with the parliamentary political group and the opposition spectrum for the national interests of our country.

I sincerely wish every member of the Strategy­ Builder team and its leader Giorgi Vashadze good luck," wrote Akubardia.
