Tea Akhvlediani: The number of people living in the occupied territories who express interest in the opportunities opened within the framework of the reconciliation and engagement policy is increasing

According to State Minister for Reconciliation and Civil Equality Tea Akhvlediani, the number of people living in the occupied territories who express interest in the opportunities opened within the framework of the policy of reconciliation and engagement is increasing. Akhvlediani spoke about the above while speaking at the plenary session of the Parliament in the format of Minister's Hour.

"Despite the numerous obstacles artificially created by the occupation regime, the number of people living in the occupied territories who express interest in the opportunities opened within the framework of the policy of reconciliation and engagement and the desire to engage in peace initiatives is increasing, which is the main result for achieving the ultimate goals of this policy. As you know, the process of reconciliation and restoration of trust is impossible without direct communication between people, which has never been stopped despite the imposed restrictions or the pandemic and has been actively ongoing for years through formal and informal communication channels, as well as within the framework of public diplomacy, sectoral cooperation and Georgian-Abkhazian/Georgian-Ossetian projects”, Akhvlediani said.
