Investigative actions are ongoing in the village of Jikhashkari, Zugdidi, in the vicinity of the house of the local resident, Omiane Jikia, where Badri Esebua, who is accused of the robbery of the Bank of Georgia, has been arrested.

Members of the family of Omiane Jikia have been allegedly taken to Zugdidi for questioning by the law enforcement officers.

Badri Esebua was arrested in Zugdidi a few hours ago. According to reports, he was arrested when he was trying to move to occupied Abkhazia.

On October 21, 2020, armed Badri Essebua broke into the building of Bank of Georgia in Zugdidi. He took more than 40 citizens hostage and demanded 500 thousand US dollars and security guarantees in exchange for their release. After receiving the money, the attacker managed to escape.
