Russian media: The first Georgian plane lands at Vnukovo airport

The first plane of the Georgian airline Georgian Airways, which made a direct flight between Tbilisi and Moscow after a four-year pause, has landed at Vnukovo airport, Russian media reports.

According to them, the plane was about 80 percent loaded.

The company received permission to operate flights on May 16.

For information, the plane belonging to the Russian airline landed at Tbilisi International Airport on May 19, at 13:00, making the first direct flight to Georgia since 2019.

The Moscow-Tbilisi flight was operated by Azimuth airline. At the same time, a demonstration was held in the airport area as a sign of protest. Police was mobilized both on the internal and external perimeter of the airport. They strictly controlled the flow of passengers entering the airport.
