The need for special flights arises if there are no flights between the two countries, but we have 4-5 flights every day, which are operated by different airlines - about 3,000 people flew from Israel to Georgia by these flights, Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili told journalists when he answered a question whether it is necessary to appoint special flights to bring Georgian citizens from Israel.

According to the minister, the government of Georgia is in constant contact with the citizens in Israel.

"For us, the safety of every citizen is of special importance. Our embassy has opened several hotlines. We are in constant communication with our citizens. There are special groups, for example, children who arrived in Israel for treatment, and we support them as much as possible so that they can be transferred to another location or return to Georgia in time. We already have good precedents for this. We continue to identify the needs of our citizens on the spot. We help them in communication with airlines. Today, for example, 4 commercial flights are scheduled. I understand that it may not be available to everyone to buy a ticket on a particular flight, but there are flights. We try as much as possible to ensure that there are no barriers between our citizens and airlines, and that citizens can purchase tickets smoothly. We continue to communicate and, if necessary, provide hotels to our citizens if they are in a desperate situation. We continue to protect the interests of our citizens and I am sure that all citizens who want to return to Georgia will be able to do so and will return to their homeland", said Ilia Darchiashvili.

As for the question about the fact that some citizens living in Israel with their families cannot buy tickets due to finances, Darchiashvili says that the request from the citizens is mainly about purchasing tickets for a specific, desired flight.

"The main request that comes from our citizens is that they need to buy tickets for a specific flight. There are communication barriers with airlines, and we help them to: first, solve problems on the spot; second: will help them in communication with the airlines. We have close communication with our citizens and we will try to help each citizen to return to their homeland", said Darchiashvili.
