According to Irakli Beraia, Chairman of Defense and Security Committee of the Parliament, a draft resolution may be submitted to the Parliament regarding the regions occupied by Russia.
Beraia spoke about this at the meeting of the Committee, where the opposition demanded to reflect and discuss the draft resolution prepared by them on the topic of the Russian military naval base in Ochamchire.
As Beraia said in response, the issue needs to be further studied and clarified in more details, on which assessments are expected from the relevant competent agencies.
"The issue is important. The Committee will act within the powers and national interests granted by the regulation. The issue needs to be further studied and clarified in more details. Most likely, it may not be only the issue of Ochamchiri, but what processes we may be dealing with in the occupied regions.
The processes need a thorough analysis and listening to the opinions of relevant competent agencies. There may be a need to include not only this issue, but also another issue in the agenda - we are in communication and we are waiting for relevant evaluations.
In this case, of course, there will be a resolution - a resolution initiated by us, where all issues will be included," said Irakli Beraia in response to the opposition.
On the issue of opening a permanent Russian military-naval base in the occupied Abkhazia, the opposition MPs submitted a draft resolution at the beginning of October, but the Parliament has not considered it yet.
