Georgia may be added to the list of Russia's friendly tourist countries, Russian media reports.
A draft law has been introduced in the Russian State Duma, which envisages the introduction of financial incentives for tour operators working in the directions of a number of CIS states.
Tourist portals TourDom.ru and Profi.Travel claim that the list of friendly countries has already been agreed with the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, and it includes Georgia along with CIS member states, as well as the self-proclaimed republics of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
According to local media, the list of friendly tourist countries will be approved by the Russian government.
The law is expected to enter into force on April 1, 2024.
