Patriarch: Today's conflicts and wars carry a real danger that any one of them will turn into a global catastrophe and destroy all of humanity - God bless Ukraine, the Middle East and the whole world

The world has always been contradictory, but today's conflicts and wars carry a real danger that any one of them will turn into a global catastrophe and destroy all of humanity. That is why all of us, to the best of our ability, must take care of peace, - this is stated in the Christmas epistle of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Archbishop of Mtskheta-Tbilisi and Metropolitan of Bichvinta and Tskhum-Abkhazia, Ilia II.

As mentioned in the epistle, in recent centuries the true faith has weakened and ungodliness has grown stronger.

"The Christian faith made a great contribution and became a decisive factor in the history of many countries, including the formation of Europe and other states. But until the second coming of the Lord, that is, until the establishment of the eternal kingdom, there will be a constant struggle between good and evil, we will constantly need more and more efforts to protect holiness, because this conflict is gradually becoming more large-scale. Let's take our time. The world has always been contradictory, but today's conflicts and wars carry a real danger that any one of them will turn into a global catastrophe and destroy all of humanity. That is why we should all, to the best of our ability, care for peace. God bless Ukraine, the Middle East and the whole world. You also know that in recent centuries, true faith has weakened and impiety has strengthened; Man replaced the creator with himself. The principle - my morals and views determine my beliefs - has advanced; while it should be the faith in God and His commandments that should determine morals and views. Today, more than ever, there is a real danger that human self-centeredness will threaten the purpose for which we were born, because the world is developing technologically, but our spiritual progress is lagging behind, and we are facing many psychological and bioethical challenges. Artificial intelligence already occupies a special place in our lives, which in scientific circles is called the model of artificial intelligence obtained by machine learning. It is known that artificial intelligence is the sum of knowledge accumulated by mankind, collective knowledge that provides relevant information through algorithms. With this means, a person will have access to a variety of data in any field he wants, which will further accelerate technological progress. Artificial intelligence has the potential to make a huge breakthrough in our lives and completely change our daily life, however, without human spiritual development, the expected negative consequences must be considered. The question becomes more and more acute: will man be able to combine the Christian way of life and the capabilities of artificial intelligence and apply it to the glory of God? Will a person, who believes in himself and is fascinated by his own creation, be further separated from God? I think it is very important to get acquainted with the views of psychologists and those specialists who are in contact with artificial intelligence, because in the near future everyone will be faced with this new reality, and it is necessary for our society to be prepared to meet it. One thing is clear: each of us must strive for personal perfection, which first of all implies the desire to know God and access His truth. God is above logical categories, the human mind cannot reach him either with the total sum of human knowledge or with the fullness of information, therefore, together with knowledge, faith and being filled with divine grace is necessary so that a person does not return to a pagan state," reads the epistle.
