Prosecutor's Office of Georgia applies to Germany and Belgium to arrest and extradite Zurab Adeishvili to Georgia

The Prosecutor's Office of Georgia applied to the competent agencies of Germany and Belgium to arrest and extradite Zurab Adeishvili, the former Minister of Justice of Georgia.

As the agency told InterPressNews, the appeal was made on the basis of publicly disseminated information.

"The Prosecutor's Office of Georgia, within the framework of its powers, implements all the measures provided for by the law to bring the persons who committed crimes in Georgia to Georgian justice, regardless of their location.

In this case as well, based on publicly disseminated information, the Prosecutor's Office appealed to the competent agencies of Germany and Belgium in order to detain Zurab Adeishvili and extradite him to Georgia," the Prosecutor's Office of Georgia said.

Former Minister of Justice, Zurab Adeshvili is accused of torture of prisoners, murder of Buta Robakidze, beating of Koba Davitashvili and other criminal cases. It should be noted that the Federal Republic of Germany handed over Davit Chakua, another defendant in the case of torture of prisoners, to the Georgian side in 2020 based on the petition of the Prosecutor's Office of Georgia.

For information, the Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine posted photos of the meetings held in Germany, involving Zurab Adeishvili, on the Facebook page.

The presence of Zurab Adeishvili in the Bundestag was followed by negative reactions from the representatives of the ruling party of Georgia.
