Francesco Lollobrigida: Georgia chose the right path when it focused on quality and not quantity in terms of wine production

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Otar Shamugia, participated in the ministerial held by the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV) in the city of Brescia, Republic of Italy.

Italian Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Francesco Lollobrigida thanked his Georgian colleague for participating in the ministerial meeting and called the existing cooperation with the Georgian authorities important.

"Georgia is an important partner for us, with which we should further deepen cooperation in the direction of utilization of specific markets and quality production. Georgia chose the right path when it focused on quality and not quantity in terms of wine production. We once again confirm our readiness to actively cooperate with Georgia, both in wine production and other sectors", said Francesco Lollobrigida in his speech at the ministerial.

According to the information of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture, this year the International Vine and Wine Organization is celebrating its 100th anniversary with various events. Among them, it is worth noting the ministerial held in the city of Brescia, which was attended by the chairman of the National Wine Agency Levan Mekhuzla and the Consul General of Georgia in the city of Milan, Natalia Kordzaia, together with the Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture.
