Wolfgang Büchner: Germany shares the concern that this law takes the Georgian government away from the EU accession path

We share the concern that this law takes the Georgian government away from the path to joining the European Union, - the statement of the deputy press secretary of the German government, Wolfgang Büchner, is reported by Tagesspiegel.

Wolfgang Büchner reminds the Georgian government of the commitment made in 2023 and explain that "such a law will be withdrawn unconditionally".

"We share the concern that this law takes the Georgian government away from the path of joining the European Union. We still think that way is open. However, this is related to very clear requirements that all candidates must fulfill, and there will be no concessions along the way," said the deputy press secretary of the German government.
