Archil Talakvadze: A little more time will pass and the entire international community will be convinced that the decisions of the Georgian government were correct - Viola von Cramon directly spoke about the problem of alleged foreign interference in her country's politics

A little more time will pass and the entire international community will be convinced that the statements and decisions of the Georgian government were correct, based on real needs, and it does not contradict the European trajectory in any way, - Archil Talakvadze, a member of Georgian Dream, said while commenting on the elections held in the European Parliament.

According to him, if Europe needs more effective protection mechanisms against foreign interference, Georgia also needs such mechanisms.

"The elections of the European Parliament expressed the will of the European people, their attitudes, and it became clear that the citizens in the developed democracies, in the leading countries of the European Union, directly supported those political parties and groups that provide citizens with guarantees of security and peace, provide guarantees for stronger sovereignty. The time will come when we will also participate in the European Parliament elections, I am sure that the Georgian society will support the values that are relevant in Europe today.

We should not miss one circumstance here - Viola von Cramon's statement is significant, where she directly spoke about the problem of alleged foreign interference and external influence in her country's politics, which is exactly what we were criticized for in recent months. We said then and we say now, it is also written in the reports of the European Union, that foreign influence in politics and democracy is a challenge in Europe. What is a problem in Europe, of course, the same problem and needs are also in Georgia. So, if Europe needs more effective protection mechanisms against external influences, foreign interference, Georgia also needs such mechanisms," said Talakvadze.
