For the real European integration of Georgia, changes should be made at the elections, - this is how the chairman of the political council of "European Georgia" Gigi Tsereteli responded to the statement made by Paweł Herczyński on the European integration of Georgia and the subsequent processes.
According to Gigi Tsereteli, the EU ambassador's statements are unfortunate, although he believes that they represent reality.
"We heard the positions of the leaders in relation to Georgia - while Ukraine and Moldova are opening the negotiation process and moving rapidly towards the European Union, Georgia is losing the chance to get into the enlargement, which will actually be until 2030.
Therefore, there is only one chance to stop all this, that important programs are not lost, financial aid is not lost, and the process of European integration moves forward in many directions - changes must be made in our country in October," said Gigi Tsereteli.
For information, according to the Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia, Paweł Herczyński, for the time being, Georgia's accession to the European Union is suspended. In addition, as he noted, the European Union also froze 30 million euros allocated to support Georgia's defense sector. According to the ambassador, they are closely monitoring the situation in Georgia and are considering sanctions, although there is no unanimity in the European structures on this issue at the moment.
