The "Shame" movement was registered in the National Public Registry Agency in accordance with the requirements of the Law "On Transparency of Foreign Influence".

The members of the movement released a video appeal on social networks, where they explain why they made the said decision.

As they point out, they decided to register in order not to cancel the organization before the upcoming elections, not to lose existing resources, not to impose a fine stipulated by law, which, according to their explanation, is a colossal amount, and because of this, the "Shame" movement does not go bankrupt.

"Crying from the Russian government and pro-Russian government towards the democratic groups that we are supposedly "agents of the West" in this country, we are less sensitive to this issue because the government has been using various discrediting phrases against the "shame" movement for years, and not only... everyone, who expressed displeasure against them. More than once they called us agents, anti-traditionalists, opponents of the state. Now they are formalizing it. If any damage could be caused by sticking these labels, this damage has already been caused, if someone could believe that we are pursuing the interests of some other state here, not Georgia, they would already believe it because this propaganda has been very active for five years.

Registration or non-registration does not determine whether the organization will receive the agent status or not. It again depends on the government's propaganda, for which everyone was already an agent," the organization said in its appeal.
