The Tsinandali Estate, the Radisson Collection Hotel, will proudly host the second wine symposium of the Swiss association "Grand Jury Du Vin." Established in 1996 in Switzerland, the association has traditionally held its prestigious wine symposiums at Villa d'Este on Lake Como, Italy. However, in 2023, the Silk Road Group, with the Bank of Georgia as the main partner, initiated the first-ever wine symposium outside of Villa d'Este, bringing the Grand Jury Du Vin to the Tsinandali Estate, thus starting an annual tradition in Georgia.
This year, the Tsinandali Estate, as the co-organizer of the event, will welcome renowned wine professionals from across the globe. Sommeliers, wine experts, journalists, and wine enthusiasts will gather to evaluate Burgundy wines, following last year’s focus on Bordeaux. Notably, Georgian wine varieties, specifically Saperavi and Qvevri wines, will be assessed alongside Burgundy selections. The symposium will also, for the first time, feature a tasting of the finest Chinese wines. Guests can explore a special Wine Avenue offering a degustation of both Georgian and European wines, with the European selection including esteemed labels such as Domaine Bonneau du Martray, Domaine Boris Champy, Domaine Bouchard Péres et Fils, Domaine Chanzy, Château Lacquy, and Domaine Comte Armand.
The wine symposium will feature a rich cultural program, including classical music and jazz concerts, as well as a Georgian folk evening with a performance by the Sukhishvili National Ballet, in the exclusive setting of the Radisson Collection Hotel. Guests will also be treated to a gala dinner curated by Irakli Asatiani, the brand chef of Silk Hospitality, offering a culinary experience that promises to be a revelation for all attendees.
“This year again, Tsinandali Estate brings together leading winemakers, wine experts, sommeliers, journalists, and critics, the influencers of the wine industry. Last year we witnessed an unprecedented Grand Cru wine tasting at the Tsinandali Estate, a first of its kind for the entire region. This year we aim to elevate the experience further. The representatives of Grand Jury Du Vin will host prestigious tastings featuring exquisite wines such as Clos De Tart, Romanée-Conti, Chateau Lacquy and Pol Roger Champagne. I am delighted that the Government of Georgia and the Bank of Georgia are supporting the event this year too. Last year we set a high standard and in 2024 wine lovers can expect an even grander celebration. We continue to place Georgia and Tsinandali Estate prominently on the global map,” said Giorgi Ramishvili, founder of Silk Road Group.
The executive team for the Tsinandali Wine Symposium includes Laurent Vialet, President of "Grand Jury Du Vin," and Giorgi Kharabadze, Executive Director of the Tsinandali Estate. The event is officially supported by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, with the Bank of Georgia as the main partner, alongside the National Tourism Administration and the Georgian National Wine Agency.
