CEC: at the moment, the number of voters with the right to vote abroad is 95,834 - the issue of opening 7 additional polling stations will be discussed at tomorrow's meeting

The Central Election Commission processed the data on the voters abroad. CEC disseminates information about this.

According to the updated information received from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant agencies, the number of voters with the right to vote abroad is 95,834.

"It is known to the public that at the session of September 26, the CEC created 60 precincts in 42 countries for 65,508 persons with the right to vote abroad for the parliamentary elections. Based on the updated data, tomorrow's session of the CEC will discuss the issue of opening additional polling stations for an additional 30,326 voters, in order to ensure voting. In particular, we are talking about the opening of 7 additional districts. It is important to note that this is not the final data and about 20 voters are still being clarified with the relevant agencies.

The issue of the already opened polling station in Israel will also be discussed at the session of the CEC tomorrow. The basis of this is the letter received from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the CEC, which talks about the circumstances and risks related to the situation created in the city of Ramat-Gan in Israel and the issues related to the operation of the election precinct in this situation.

We remind you that according to the legislation, a polling station abroad is created for not less than 50 and not more than 3,000 voters who are on consular registration. The election legislation of Georgia does not provide for other regulations regarding the participation in elections of Georgian citizens living abroad.

We will provide detailed information about the results of the session and polling stations abroad to the public immediately after the session. Before that, once again, we call on the interested parties not to use the topic of voting abroad for political manipulations, because it damages the election environment and the interests of the voters," the information reads.
