Beka Liluashvili: The only final test that the government has to pass is the elections - practically, we heard exactly the same from the European Union

The only final test that the government has to pass is the elections - practically, we heard exactly the same thing from the European Union, Beka Liluashvili, the deputy of "Gakharia for Georgia" said about this while evaluating the statement of Josep Borrell to journalists.

According to him, if the government manages not to steal the choice of Georgian citizens and hold elections in a free environment, it means that "Georgian Dream", as a political organization, will maintain its political opinion, importance and perspective.

"It's been a long time, the situation is very clear. We think that the only final test that the government has to pass is the elections. In practice, we heard exactly the same from the European Union. If the government is able not to steal the choice of the citizens of Georgia and hold elections in a free environment, this means that "Georgian Dream", as a political organization, will retain some of its political opinion, importance and perspective. This does not mean that he will win the elections, but he will keep the perspective of his own political organization. If they don't do this, they will steal our country's choice again, falsify the elections, and thus once again, they will finally confirm that authoritarianism is forming in this country. Of course, they, as the government and political organization of this country, have no political future. The citizens of Georgia will be able to do this even without everyone's help," Liluashvili said.

For information, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, said that the recent actions, statements and election promises of the ruling party in Georgia move the country away from the European path and indicate a transition to authoritarianism.

According to Borrell, the parliamentary elections will be a decisive test for democracy in Georgia and its path to the European Union.
