Critically important elections will be held in Georgia, because the Georgian people will decide on the direction as well. If they keep the current status quo, I don't think that Georgia will care about the chances to achieve progress and success on the path of European integration, - the President of Lithuania, Gitanas Nausėda, told reporters before the European Council meeting in Brussels.
"I would like to draw your attention to the rather important political events taking place in Georgia and Moldova. Georgia is a big issue. Critically important elections will be held in Georgia, because the Georgian people will decide on the direction as well. If they maintain the current status quo, I don't think that Georgia cares about the chances to achieve progress and success on the path of European integration. If pro-European forces achieve victory, then we can expect a different path, and we very much welcome it," said the Lithuanian President.
