MP Irakli Zarkua criticizes opposition-organized march, links it to LGBT agenda

Georgian Dream MP Irakli Zarkua condemned the upcoming opposition-organized march in Tbilisi, claiming it aligns with LGBT propaganda. He questioned whether "honest citizens" would support participating alongside the LGBT community in what he framed as a march for Georgia's development.

Zarkua implied that the march was being used to promote LGBT propaganda, urging citizens to reconsider their involvement.

"Do you know that next to this 'Pride,' next to the men with hair, that is, together with the members of the LGBT community, you are also invited to talk about the development of Georgia and tomorrow?"

Zarkua expressed his belief that many people, particularly Georgians who value traditional customs, would not feel comfortable joining a rally where LGBT issues were involved. He suggested that this would lead to a further decline in opposition support, as citizens would distance themselves from such events

"How can a Georgian man, famous for his hospitality and customs, now hold an action together with LGBT propaganda and their 'Pride'?"

He thanked the organizers for helping to "illustrate" the differences between Georgian Dream's values and those of the opposition, emphasizing that many people had withdrawn support from opposition parties as a result of this alignment with LGBT activism.

"I would like to thank the organizers for helping us once again show the society the difference between us and this LGBT community."
