We must continue to support the efforts of the Georgian people to protect their own democracy and continue their chosen path towards Euro-Atlantic integration, - the statement of the US Helsinki Commission is saying.

"In May, in recognition of the friendship between the United States and the Georgian people, the Helsinki Commission introduced the MEGOBARI Act, a bipartisan bill to strengthen democracy, human rights and the rule of law in Georgia.

While the draft law awaits the final vote of the House of Representatives, we must continue to support the efforts of the Georgian people to protect their democracy and continue on their chosen path to Euro-Atlantic integration," the statement said.
