Finance Ministry's Investigative Service conducts searches at homes of several individuals, including Giorgi Noniashvili

According to reports, the Investigative Service of Georgia's Ministry of Finance is conducting searches at the homes of several individuals, including opposition politician Giorgi Noniashvili.

Noniashvili announced via social media that his home was being searched, with all electronic devices, including his child's laptop, being seized. He suggested that the search is related to an ongoing investigation involving the Atlantic Council, where his wife, Sofo, is employed.

"My house is being searched - seized. They are taking all the 'devices' from the family, including my child's laptop and mine. The reason for the search is an investigation related to the Atlantic Council, where Sofo [my wife] works," Noniashvili posted on his social media account.

Onise Tskhadadze, another individual whose residence was searched, also shared his experience on Facebook. He mentioned that the Financial Police searched a rented property shared with his brother, seizing all electronic equipment except his phone.

"The Financial Police came to me and my brother. They took all equipment, even a broken year-old laptop, except my phone," wrote Tskhadadze, adding that the search process was conducted in a seemingly unusual manner.
