The Chairman of the CEC presented the preliminary preliminary results of the elections to the Parliament of Georgia.
According to Kalandarishvili, the wide-scale use of electronic technologies made it possible to get to know the preliminary primary results within an hour and 45 minutes after the end of the voting.
According to his assessment, the elections took place in a peaceful and free environment.
"Today is of historical importance for our country and for us, the election administration. That's right
Today, for the first time, we used electronic election machines on such a large scale, and at the end of the day we can confidently say that the elections took place - this stage of modernization of the elections was successfully implemented.
The elections took place in a peaceful and free environment. The turnout of voters and the fact that the process was conducted practically without errors confirms that the election administration organized the elections in accordance with international standards.
Voters made their choice easily and smoothly using technology. This, of course, is the result of the fact that the election administration planned all the activities related to the introduction of technologies correctly and purposefully and, accordingly, implemented them effectively. For almost two years, an unprecedented and large-scale campaign focused on informing and transforming the behavior of voters was carried out, appropriate technologies and infrastructure were held, as well as activities focused on risk insurance in the election process and many other innovative projects were implemented.
Both the voters and the local and international organizations that were actively involved in the election process made a special contribution to the successful conduct of the elections with us. Also the media, which both during the pre-election period and on the day of voting provided coverage of election processes and informed voters. I would like to thank our international partners, local organizations and media for their support.
I thank the voters for showing civic responsibility and being active. And, of course, I thank the election officials for the administration of the elections at a high professional level, who, in some cases, had to work in the face of unprecedented pressure and unfair accusations, but managed to conduct the voting process smoothly," Kalandarishvili said.
According to Kalandarishvili, the polling stations have not completed their activities at the moment, because in addition to the counting by the machines, the commissions will additionally count the results by hand, after which the summary protocols will be compiled.
"It was the wide-scale use of electronic technologies that allowed us to present the preliminary primary results today, an hour and 45 minutes after the end of the voting. However, before that, I would like to point out that the polling stations have not completed their activities at the moment, because in addition to the counting by the machines, the commissions will additionally count the results by hand, after which the summary protocols will be compiled. Now this process is taking place at the polling stations. "After precinct summary protocols are compiled, both in modernized and traditional polling stations, they will be delivered to CEC as soon as possible, uploaded to the special website results.cec.gov.ge and will be available to any interested person," Kalandarishvili said.
