Oleksiy Goncharenko: The ruling party bought the elections

A question was asked at the press conference whether the election was stolen or not, and my personal answer is - it was bought. This is my personal answer, because I saw what I saw with my own eyes, especially in rural areas, - Ukrainian Rada deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko told journalists in Tbilisi.

"I don't think we can call it a free and fair election. This is my personal position, but now many of my colleagues have stated the same. When we see the results from the polling stations that the ruling "Georgian Dream" has 94 percent, I have only one question: why not 194 percent? This is a very, very strange thing, it is like a return to the USSR, and not the result of a democratic country," said Goncharenko.

According to him, the ruling party bought the election results.

"The head of the delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe clearly stated that we saw voter intimidation, a very harsh electoral climate, especially in rural areas, where it was difficult for voters to freely express their opinion. So this is all very disturbing. The question was raised whether the election was stolen or not, and my personal answer is - it was bought. This is my personal answer because I saw what I saw with my own eyes. The ruling party in rural areas bought the results. If you look at the results in the districts in the area of villages from 70 to 80-90 percent. We absolutely do not believe in this," said Goncharenko.
