The elections in Georgia were won not by the power offered by Brussels and the liberal "mainstream", but by the ruling party, which supports sovereignty, peace and family, and which openly puts national interests in the forefront, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Peter Szijártó.

"There is nothing new under the sun: the election in Georgia on Saturday was won not by the one proposed by Brussels and the liberal "mainstream", but by the ruling party that supports sovereignty, peace and family, and openly puts national interests at the forefront. So, since the liberals were far behind, the attack began: the elections were dishonest, there is no democracy in Georgia, etc., Szijártó noted.

He once again congratulated "Georgian Dream" for "gaining and maintaining the trust of the Georgian people" and stated that Hungary is ready to develop cooperation based on mutual respect and support Georgia's European integration process.

According to Szijártó, it is especially pitiful that one of the main critics of the elections held in Georgia is the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Gabrielius Landsbergis, whose party won the 2020 elections, but lost in yesterday's elections.
