The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine about the elections: there should be an investigation of the facts established by international observers - we call on the Georgian government not to follow the path of Belarus

In order to ensure the legitimacy of the elections and to avoid a political crisis, the facts established by international observers should be investigated, we call on the Georgian government not to follow the path of Belarus, - this is stated in the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine regarding the results of the parliamentary elections in Georgia.

As the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine notes in a statement, "It is not surprising that the results of the October 26 elections were well received in Russia, because such methods of influencing the results of the manifestation of will are characteristic of the Russian regime."

"Ukraine was closely following the progress of the parliamentary elections held in Georgia on October 26, 2024. We support the conclusions of the OSCE/ODIHR international mission to observe the parliamentary elections in Georgia, which found many violations.

Bribery, intimidation, coercion and pressure on voters, lack of transparency of voting, restriction of access of opposition parties to mass media - this is only an incomplete list of violations by which these elections were remembered. It is not surprising that the results of these elections were well received in Russia, because such methods of influencing the results of the manifestation of will are characteristic of the Russian regime. At the same time, they are incompatible with the path to the European Union and NATO announced by the Georgian authorities. In order to ensure the legitimacy of the elections and to avoid a political crisis, the facts established by international observers should be investigated. We call on the Georgian government not to follow the path of Belarus", this is stated in the statement.
