The opposition members of the Central Election Commission demand the immediate holding of the session of the CEC Commission and the holding of re-elections.
As they explained at today's joint briefing, the reason for this is that the secrecy of voting in the October 26 elections was violated.
"10 days have passed since the election, and during these 10 days, involved parties, non-governmental organizations, and most importantly, Georgian voters protested the violation of the main principle of the Constitution - secrecy. This was once again confirmed by yesterday's court.
The opposition members of the CEC demand that the chairman of the CEC, Giorgi Kalandarishvili, urgently convene a session of the commission, where the elections will be declared not held and we demand that re-elections be held," said Davit Kirtadze, the representative of "Unity National Movement" in the CEC.
In addition, according to Giorgi Sioridze, another opposition member of the CEC, the court also confirmed the violation of the secrecy of voting in the elections, which proves the fact beyond doubt.
"Everyone is talking about the fact that these elections were a special operation. Various proofs have been prepared, which will be provided to our international partners. One thing is clear to everyone, which neither the government, nor the CEC, nor anyone denies, and that is that voter privacy was massively violated in technological precincts. The Tetritskaro District Court created a precedent and annulled the results of the respective districts. This means that there is a legal basis for declaring the elections not held and calling for re-elections," said Sioridze.
