The Central Election Commission does not and cannot act in accordance with the political agenda, - this is how CEC Spokesperson Natia Ioseliani responded to the request of opposition members in CEC to urgently schedule a meeting to discuss the issue of re-election.
As Ioseliani told the journalists, the sessions of the CEC will be held in accordance with the legislation.
"The process of consideration of complaints in the courts is going on, and as soon as this process is finished, a session will be held at the CEC. You know that after reviewing the appeals in the court, the district election commissions must summarize the October 26 parliamentary elections, and after that there will be the relevant legal procedures, and finally there will be a session of the CEC, where the parliamentary elections will be summarized. Sessions will be held in accordance with the law. The election administration does not and cannot act according to the political agenda," Ioseliani said.
According to her, the CEC members, including those appointed by the party, as well as representatives of international organizations attended the process of printing ballots and summary minutes.
"The only interest of the election administration was, is and will be that fundamental principles are respected at the polling station. This is what the election administration did in the past years, it is doing it now and it will do the same in the future. In no case will the CEC violate the law, no matter what the political agenda is, it will not and cannot!" - said Ioseliani.
According to her, the information that Giorgi Kalandarishvili, the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Central Committee, is in hiding is a lie. As Natia Ioseliani explains, the CEC implemented all the legal bases, including technical and administrative measures, in order to preserve the principle of secrecy at the elections.
"Giorgi Kalandarishvili is here, working in his office, therefore, the information that he is in hiding is a lie," Ioseliani said.
