French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk issued a joint statement and expressed concern over the current political situation in Georgia, Reuters reports.

According to the publication, Macron, Scholz and Tusk, who released a joint statement as members of the so-called Weimar Triangle format, said they could not support the start of Georgia's accession negotiations with the European Union if the country does not carry out reforms.

"If Georgia does not change its current course and does not demonstrate tangible efforts regarding reforms, in particular, by repealing recent legislation that is against European values ​​and principles, we cannot be supporters of opening accession negotiations with Georgia," the statement said.
