Michael Roth: Some representatives of the ruling party call us enemies, we are not enemies, we are friends

Some representatives of the ruling party call us enemies. We are not enemies, we are friends - I'm sorry, but ask the ruling party why they didn't want to meet us, - said the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the German Parliament (Bundestag), Mikhail Roth, after the meeting with the President of Georgia, thus answering the question why "Georgian Dream" did not meet with the delegation of the chairmen of the Foreign Relations Committee of the 8 EU countries.

According to him, the members of the delegation are in Georgia as friends of the Georgian people, and in the conditions of a living democracy, conflicting moments in politics are normal.

According to Roth, there are serious doubts regarding the legitimacy of the elections held in Georgia, and they demand an independent foreign investigation.

"Sorry, but ask the ruling party why they didn't want to meet us. We are here as friends of the people of Georgia and in a living democracy, conflicting moments in politics are normal. This is the essence. We are here as friends. We agree on many things, but sometimes we disagree. Some representatives of the ruling party call us enemies. We are not enemies, we are friends.

I have already expressed my serious doubts about the legitimacy of the election, and it is clear that the doubts are so serious that we will demand a foreign-based investigation. This is the only chance to restore trust," said Roth.
