Badri Japaridze: Many facts are presented to prove the hijacking of the elections, simply, "Georgian Dream" has chosen to blind its eyes

Leader of "Strong Georgia" Badri Japaridze condemned "Georgian Dream" for alleged election interference, calling on European allies to stand by the Georgian people in upholding democratic integrity.

Ahead of a meeting with a delegation of European parliamentarians, Badri Japaridze, leader of the "Strong Georgia" party, accused the ruling party, "Georgian Dream," of manipulating the recent parliamentary elections. Japaridze emphasized the importance of EU support in ensuring the legitimacy of Georgia's democratic process and keeping the country's pro-Western trajectory intact.

Japaridze expressed concerns over "Georgian Dream’s" alleged election interference, describing it as an attempt to ignore the Georgian people's pro-Western choice. He underscored that ample evidence demonstrates election hijacking, even though, in his words, the ruling party has chosen to "blind its eyes" to these facts.

“The Georgian people voted for the pro-Western opposition on October 26, yet ‘Georgian Dream’ hijacked this election,” Japaridze asserted. He highlighted the role of the visiting EU delegation, noting, “This high-ranking group of parliamentarians from EU member states is here to understand the reality of the post-election situation.”

Japaridze further stated, “Our meeting will focus on discussing steps forward, to ensure that the Georgian people continue to feel the steadfast support of the European Union and Western partners. This support will only grow.”
