Michael Roth: We are not enemies, we are friends - is it meddling in your country's internal affairs to meet with the brave president of your country? Is it interference to meet citizens fighting for fair elections?

We are not enemies, we are friends, - said the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the German Parliament (Bundestag), Michael Roth, during his speech at the protest rally in Tbilisi.

"We are glad to be here in Tbilisi again, in the real capital of Europe. I know that some people in your country, especially in the government and the ruling party, are not happy about our visit, but we are not enemies, we are friends. We are friends of free and democratic Georgia, in the heart of Europe, this is your place, which you deserve," said Michael Roth.

Michael Roth noted that they are criticized for interfering in the country's internal affairs.

"Is it interference to meet the President of your country?" With a brave lady, a loyal lady of Europe, who will fight with you for the future of your country? Is it an interference to meet you, citizens of a proud country fighting for European values, democracy and free and fair elections? It is not about intervention, but about the common future in a united Europe, and that is why we are here," said Michael Roth.
