Guram Macharashvili: Filing a lawsuit in the Constitutional Court to ban parties depends on the actions of the opposition - we will make a decision based on how the national interests of the country will be needed

Filing a lawsuit in the Constitutional Court regarding the banning of parties depends on the actions of the opposition, their behavior and statements - "Georgian Dream" observes and dynamically follows the processes, depending on what the situation will be and how the national interests of the country will be needed, we will make a decision - this statement was made by a member of the ruling party in the Parliament Guram Macharashvili.

According to Macharashvili, the Constitutional Court will have much more evidence than the political ban of the party can be based on.

As he noted in this context, "political forces are hostile to the country and they do it publicly both inside and outside the country."

Macharashvili added here that while there is a "national movement" in the opposition, no place for a healthy opposition can be found in the political space.

"The Constitutional Court is empowered, based on the relevant lawsuit, to prohibit a political party that is called to make anti-constitutional statements and organize anti-state actions. Many such political parties have been banned in Europe, of which we have examples.

If they speed up the process, they will get a legal act!

The practice of banning parties exists in Europe, and I assure you that we have more evidence than can be the basis for canceling a party.

The leader of the party, who is directly hostile to the country, publicly tells foreigners that there are black holes in Georgia, which is not proven, storms the Parliament, sows hatred among the people, foreigners say that the elections were held normally, while he is lying to the people - this and many other proofs exist”, Guram Macharashvili said.
