Levan Bezhashvili: The members of the list of all four opposition parties should request the CEC not to register them as deputies - in this case, 89 deputies of "Georgian Dream" will remain alone, and the parliament will remain without legitimacy

One of the leaders of "Unity National Movement", Levan Bezhashvili, explains in which case the Parliament of Georgia will not have legitimacy.

As Bezhashvili writes on "Facebook", according to the constitution, in order to legitimize the parliament, at least 100 deputies must have a certificate of authority, and the deputies must be registered by the CEC. According to him, the list members of all four opposition parties should request the CEC not to register them as elected deputies, against their will.

"According to the constitution, for the legitimacy of the parliament, at least 100 deputies must have a certificate of authority.

Deputies' authority is recognized on the basis of the summary protocol of the CEC - the CEC must register/confirm the election of at least 100 deputies.

What is our goal? The goal is that the elections do not have legitimacy.

Accordingly, the list members of all four opposition parties should request the CEC not to register them as elected deputies, against their will.

In this case, 89 deputies of "Georgian Dream" will be alone, and the parliament will remain without legitimacy.

In other cases, the CEC will accept a summary protocol and based on this protocol, the authority of 150 deputies will be recognized. Refusal of mandates after that will only be denial of mandates and not delegitimization of the parliament formed on the basis of falsified elections.

Whoever says that such a procedure does not exist is lying.

The answer is in the constitution (it is not necessary to write everything in the election code), it is the constitutional principle that you cannot force a person to hold any position against his will. Therefore, you cannot recognize his authority if he refuses in advance.

So that we can show unity and delegitimize the falsified parliament", said Levan Bezhashvili.
