Nathalie Loiseau: I and 6 of my colleagues were on an election observation mission in Georgia, we saw fraud, intimidation

My 6 colleagues and I were on an election observation mission in Georgia and we saw fraud and intimidation, - MEP Nathalie Loiseau said at the plenary session of the European Parliament.

According to her, the Georgian people expect a lot from the European Union, the European parliamentarian expressed concern that the European Council did not find time to talk at the last meeting.

"My 6 colleagues and I were on an election observation mission in Georgia, and we saw fraud, intimidation, and therefore I want to hold a debate about it here in the parliament.

What is happening in Georgia now - I'm talking about protests, people coming out on the street with Georgian and European flags - they expect a lot from the European Union. Unfortunately, the European Council did not find time to talk about it at the last meeting.

We are the home of democracy in Europe and we should find time not only to debate what is happening in Georgia, but also to state our position by adopting a resolution. That's why I demand that this be part of the agenda at the next session," Nathalie Loiseau said.

309 MEPs supported, 191 were against, and 34 abstained from voting on the resolution in the next session.
