Today, the so-called parliament of occupied Abkhazia is planning to ratify the draft law on "regulating the legal status of multifunctional complexes".
The mentioned process is accompanied by noise and controversy in Abkhazia. The local opposition is planning to hold a rally in parallel with the discussion of the issue of ratification of the Russian-Abkhazian investment agreement by the so-called parliament.
The wave of protests in Sukhumi started right after the so-called parliament adopted the law "On the regulation of the legal status of multifunctional complexes", which regulates some concepts of the so-called intergovernmental agreement on investments with Russia. The opposition claims that it is about the sale of apartments in Abkhazia to Russia and opposes the ratification of the document. In addition, on the evening of November 11, five activists of the "opposition" of Abkhazia were arrested after participating in a fight with the so-called member of parliament, although the cases of three of the five detainees were closed.
On November 12, late at night, opposition supporters blocked Gumista and Kodori bridges. The so-called president, Aslan Bzhania, held an extraordinary session of the "Security Council" in connection with the created situation, where the leaders of the "Security Forces" "talked about the measures taken to prevent illegal actions".
The so-called president of the occupied Abkhazia, Aslan Bzhania, said that Abkhazia has enough power and means to ensure order in the country. According to him, "the situation in the republic is under the control of the government".
"The authorities of Abkhazia are working on unblocking the sections of the highways that were blocked by the oppositionists," said Bzhania.
