The protest is important to show our friends in the West as regularly as possible that there are people in this country who are not going to get used to these stolen elections, one of the leaders of the "Coalition for Change", Zurab Girchi Japaridze, told "InterpressNews".
According to him, the 24-hour protest announced by the opposition was important.
"I think today's protest was important, in response to what the CEC did yesterday, they published the summary report and wrote those falsified numbers, some kind of reaction was necessary and we did it in the form we did. In general, the protest is important in order to show ourselves, our surrounding people and our friends in the West as regularly as possible that there are people in this country who are not going to accept these stolen elections and are going to fight for their freedom," said Japaridze.
He also answered the question asked at the session of the Council of Foreign Affairs of the European Union and said that he does not have optimistic expectations when talking about Georgia.
"We are all waiting for the messages, but obviously, we do not have optimistic expectations. It is likely that the same position will be voiced, as we have heard more than once from many representatives of the European Union, that the European integration of Georgia is not stopped, but there will be a review of the benefits that Georgia already receives. Whether it is an association agreement, free trade or visa-free travel," Japaridze said.
