Nika Melia: When the will of the voters is not reflected in the election results, their will must be reflected in the streets, avenues and squares - nothing will stop this process, except for new elections

Nothing will stop this process, except for new elections, - one of the leaders of "Coalition for Change", Nika Melia, told "InterpressNews" at the protest rally.

According to him, "the stronger the protest movement inside the country, the greater the effect of the international community's support to the Georgian people."

"In my opinion, the most important phase for the protest movement is that the non-violent protest movement is gaining strength. The charge of the battle is getting stronger and stronger. This has its specific basis. The government is illegitimate, the elections conducted by it are not recognized internationally, by our best partners, neither Great Britain, nor the USA, nor the member states of the European Union. A large part of the Georgian society does not recognize it, neither does the opposition, nor does any civil society group recognize it. Therefore, this government is in double isolation inside and outside the country. Citizens do not obey an illegitimate government and this act of disobedience was yesterday and will continue until new elections are held in this country. This is the goal we are moving towards. This battle has moved into another phase, today it will not slow down on Chavchavadze avenue and it will more and more cover many other important avenues and streets of Tbilisi. This government has no other option but to use the most democratic tool - the street. I think that when the will of the voters is not reflected in the election results, their will should be reflected in the streets, avenues and squares. Nothing will stop this process, except for new elections," said Melia.
