Obviously, we should have an investigation. It is impossible to say that the elections were not free and fair and not to investigate it, - said the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, in response to a question from journalists before the session of the Council of Foreign Affairs of the European Union.
According to Borrell, there should be an investigation and there should be accountability.
"Obviously we have to have an investigation. What happened must be fully evaluated. You cannot say that the election was not free and fair and not investigate it. From the very beginning, we asked the Georgian authorities to find out everything related to the complaints. There must be an investigation and there must be accountability," Borrell said.
