It is the third time they have announced that they will stop funding Georgia - despite these threats, we will always pursue the interests of the country and its people - this is how the General Secretary of "Georgian Dream", Kakha Kaladze, answered the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Relations and Security, Joseph Borrell, according to whom the financial assistance of the European Union Instead of state agencies, civil society may take it.
According to Kakha Kaladze, this statement is speculative.
"We have heard such a statement many times, and why did they stop this funding? This is the third time they have announced this. We heard! Despite these threats, we will always pursue the interest of the country and the people.
If we put aside these political speculative statements, which are filled with lies, Georgia is moving forward by all parameters. Look at the studies and statistics published by international institutions. Georgia is a country that is carrying out reforms, it has taken forward steps on the path of European integration. We are not going to stop there. We will do everything to become a member of the European Union as soon as possible", Kakha Kaladze said.
As for the statements made before the session that the investigation into the facts of the alleged election fraud should be conducted using international experience, according to Kaladze, the investigation has been started, however, no one has come up with the facts of the fraud so far.
"CEC has applied to the General Prosecutor's Office regarding the facts of alleged forgery. Ever since the day of the elections, when the opposition heard that they were defeated, they started talking about fraud. They told us that there are many facts. However, so far no one has presented the evidence. The prosecutor's office summoned specific people, but they did not actually present the facts. These are political speculations and cannot influence the government of Georgia. The majority of the country's population supported us, chose peace and economic development", said Kakha Kaladze.
Also, while talking to journalists, Kaladze once again commented on the letter that four political parties sent to the European Union. According to him, their attempt is to destabilize the country.
"The opposition continues its usual mischief. The letter was sent secretly, however, we have been provided with the content, which is signed by four radical parties. We have been told many times that these people are doing everything to somehow harm the state and people. We remember a number of similar actions from their side, even if they tried to stop the process of visa liberalization, they also did the same on the status of the candidate, on the association agreement. They are common traitors. What should the agency demand? These people serve outside forces and their interests. Based on that statement, their main attempt is to create destabilization and chaos in the country. I want to assure everyone that we will have peace", said Kaladze.
