Kakha Kaladze: Everyone can express their opinion, but when you picket, block the roads, when you don't have enough people, there will be an appropriate response

Freedom of speech and expression is protected in the country, but as soon as we see a deviation from the law, of course, it will be followed by an appropriate response from the relevant agencies, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze told journalists, thus answering the question related to the break-up of the ongoing protest in Tbilisi.

According to Kaladze, the country has no opposition.

"You have no opposition in the country, unfortunately. We have a group of marginals and radicals who prevent the country's development by their existence, always try to prevent the country's strengthening, economic progress, but we will not give these people the opportunity to harm the country.

As for general actions, freedom of speech and expression is protected in the country. Any person has the opportunity to express his opinion in different ways, but the main thing is that it should be within the law. As soon as we see a deviation from the law, this will of course be followed by an appropriate response from the relevant agencies.

Any person in the country can express his opinion in different ways, but the main thing is that it should be within the law. As soon as you go beyond the scope of the law, there will be an appropriate response. No one will be given the opportunity to break the law in the country, to organize picketing, to interfere with society and people in their daily life. We will not give anyone the opportunity to do this. There is a law, any person can express his opinion. When you purposely picket, block the roads when you don't have enough people, this will, of course, be followed by an appropriate response," said Kakha Kaladze.

He also answered the question about Sergi Baramidze, the operator of the "Mtavar Arkhi", who was arrested by the police while performing his duty.

"No one has the right to insult a police officer or any person. You want to be a protester, you want to be who you want to be, why do you insult the policeman, why do you curse, why do you shoot things? This is not the correct form, when the head of the relevant service of the municipality came and provided information to the protesters in the form of a text, which is provided by law. The actions that we have seen are not the right ones - insulting the police, swearing. The same, even with regard to journalists, why don't you feel a sense of protest when journalists of "PosTV", "Imedi", even "Rustavi 2" are insulted and prevented from working. Why don't you protest, why don't you come out and ask me the same question? Are they your colleagues? Do you like the attitude and mood they have towards the journalists of these TV stations? This is not appropriate, friends, believe me, but the people there are ordinary radicals", said Kakha Kaladze.

In addition, according to him, nobody will be allowed to confront people in the country.

"We will have peace and tranquility in the country, economic development of the country will take place. Neither the agency, nor the traitors, nor the so-called details from the outside can change the current situation. There will be peace in the country", said Kakha Kaladze.
