Davit Kirtadze, who smeared black paint on Giorgi Kalandarishvili, will have to leave the CEC - Kirtadze will not be able to be a member of the CEC for the next four years

Davit Kirtadze, the representative of the "National Movement" party in the CEC, who smeared black paint on the CEC chairman Giorgi Kalandarishvili at the November 16 meeting, will have to leave the CEC - Kirtadze will not be able to be a member of the CEC for the next four years.

The reason for this is the decision made by the Tbilisi City Court, which satisfied the protocol of administrative offenses drawn up by Giorgi Kalandarishvili and fined Kirtadze 500 GEL.

Kirtadze was fined on the basis of Article 91 of the Election Code, according to which the court fines a person in the amount of 500 GEL for interfering with the commission's functions and activities. In addition, taking into account the "Election Code" (Article 10, Clause 5, Sub-Clause of the Code) it is forbidden to appoint as a member of the commission a person who is known as an administrative offender due to the violation of the election legislation. Such a person cannot be appointed as a member of the CEC within 4 years after the court decision enters into legal force.

It should be noted that after the assembly of the newly elected parliament, the party composition of the CEC should be reconstituted in accordance with the results of the October 26 elections.
