The Prosecutor's Office of Georgia filed charges against one person for attacking the policemen during the rally held on Melikishvili Avenue in Tbilisi. The General Prosecutor's Office disseminates information about this.
According to the investigative agency, the investigation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs established that on November 19, during the rally held on Melikishvili avenue in Tbilisi, the accused inflicted various injuries on three policemen with a wooden stick.
"Law enforcement officers arrested the accused on November 21. He was charged under the first part of Article 353 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (assault on a police officer, in connection with the official activities of a police officer), which provides for imprisonment from 4 to 7 years.
The prosecutor's office applies to the court within the time limit established by the law, with a motion to apply a preventive measure to the accused.
The investigation into the criminal case continues," the information says.
The investigative agency also releases video footage, where it can be seen that a specific person waves a stick several times at the policemen.
