Vakhtang Gomelauri: there are no sanctions against me, I have not heard of them, nor have they written to me - neither here nor in Europe, I have not had any problems with transferring money or visiting, I move normally

According to Vakhtang Gomelauri, the candidate for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, he has no information about the imposition of any kind of sanctions by the United States of America, and he has not faced any financial or visa problems so far.

Gomelauri spoke about this in the parliament, in response to the journalists' question.

"There [are] no sanctions against me, I have not heard. They didn't even write. Neither here nor in Europe, I have not had any problems transferring money or visiting - I move normally. I heard it for the first time. In any case, they did not announce to me that sanctions were imposed on Vakhtang Gomelauri. Nothing came to me, I don't know if they approved me secretly. "I haven't received anything - neither visa nor financial", Gomelauri said.

When asked whether it would be a problem for him to impose sanctions from the United States of America, Gomelauri says that it is not pleasant, although "everything will be sorted out".

"Of course, it's not pleasant. I think everything will be sorted out with the United States of America. They are our friends. We have done a lot together, we remember standing by a lot since the 90s. I don't think that something will break and a fence will appear between us. Today or not, it will be sorted out tomorrow", said Vakhtang Gomelauri.

In addition, Gomelauri answered the question of when he was in the United States of America for the last time, to which the minister said that he had not been to the United States for 5 years.

"Probably a few years ago. The last time I had an official visit, I was the head of the security service. Since then, since I have been the Minister of Internal Affairs, I have not gone for 5 years", Gomelauri said.
