The election administration canceled the registration of the remaining candidates presented by the party list of the political unions - "Coalition for Change Gvaramia Melia Girchi Droa", "Unity-National Movement" and "Strong Georgia-Lelo, for the People, for Freedom". The Central Election Commission publishes a statement about this.
As mentioned in the statement, the decision was made by the CEC based on the address of the mentioned parties in accordance with the legislation.
"Here we would like to respond to the statements of the mentioned political entities regarding the cancellation of the lists and state that the decision of the agency regarding the cancellation of the lists does not mean that the election administration shares the evaluations of the parties regarding the elections. When making the mentioned decisions, the election administration was guided only by the election legislation of Georgia. The CEC does not share the political nature and groundless assessments expressed in the letters sent by the political parties regarding the cancellation of the lists regarding the October 26, 2024 elections of the Parliament of Georgia and the summary protocol of the said election results. We believe that the mentioned assessments are based on the political agenda and do not reflect reality.
The CEC emphatically states that the elections of the Parliament of Georgia on October 26, 2024 were held in full compliance with the principles stipulated by the Constitution of Georgia, and the CEC drew up a protocol summarizing the results of the elections in accordance with the law.
The decrees and letters of the Chairman of the Central Committee on the cancellation of party lists will be sent to the relevant political unions", the statement said.
